|Bergen-Belsen, (or Belsen) was a Nazi concentration camp in Lower Saxony, southwest of the town of Bergen near Celle. Between 1943 and 1945 an estimated 50,000 European civilians died there. A memorial and an exhibition centre exist on the site now.||05/13/2006||2,229|

|The Bergen-Belsen Memorial|
is situated sixty kilometres north-east of Hannover, in the Lüneburg Heath. Located on the grounds of the former P.O.W. (Prisoner of War) and concentration camps, marked graves and monuments hold reminders of the suffering and deaths of its prisoners. A documentation centre illustrates the history of the camp and its victims
