Church at cliff

Church at cliff

The old Hojerup Church was build of chalk stones from the cliff in 1250 to 1300 and was far away from the cliff. Because of erosion during time the church came closer to the cliff and 1928 the chansel and parts of the church yard fell down. But the church was allready closed in 1910.
Today the church is secured and open to public with a great view over the Baltic Sea.

Coastal Erosion - Isle of Wight - UK

Coastal Erosion - Isle of Wight - UK

One of several points along the Military Road where the cliff edge is just getting too close to the road. Combined tidal and weather erosion has already caused this road to be re-routed several times. The road was originally a straight Roman road, the foundations of which can be seen in places in the cliff face.

De Havilland Sea Vixen FAW.2 XP919 at Walpole

De Havilland Sea Vixen FAW.2 XP919 at Walpole

Oh dear! Poor old XP919 has had a rather hard retirement. Bought from the MoD by somebody intending to restore her for static display, the first blow was struck courtesy of our ever fabulous police. They changed their minds at a late stage and would not allow the aircraft to be transported on the roads unless it was cut down to size - despite other police forces being quite happy with Sea Vixen...

We will build bridges anywhere in Australia

We will build bridges anywhere in Australia

The Mooney Mooney Creek Bridge is one of the most spectacular on any highway in Australia, crossing the creek 75m above water level, spanning 480m from cliff to cliff and taking 3 and a half years to build. It was opened to traffic in October 1983. [check here for a picture of the bridge: http://www.googleearthhacks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1504 -admin]
