Located on the Green River in northeastern Utah and southern Wyoming. This dam creates a reservoir which is used for hydroelectric power. Construction on this dam began in 1958 and was completed in 1964. The dam is 502' high and 1180' long. The crest width of this dam is 27', with a base width of 131'.

Operation Chastise was the official name for the attacks on German dams on May 17, 1943 in World War II using a specially developed "bouncing bomb". The attack was carried out by Royal Air Force No. 617 Squadron, subsequently known as the Dam Busters.
