Misthusum was a small village build in the 12th centurz on 8 hills and contained 12 marchfarms. The village was destroyed by the big flood on october 11th. 1634. The worst ever at the danish west coast. It was called "the giant mandrowing".
44 people drowned including all animals.

The museum is a part of the danish National Museum.

Tranquebar was a danish colony from 1620 to 1845 with Fort Dansborg to protect Tranquebar. It was the second largest fortification in the danish kingdom after Helsingoer (Elsingore) on the danish island Zealand.

From here the waters around Denmark is controlled by the danish navy and all rescue opeations with the danish Navy Homeguard, Airforce and Navy as support.

Charlotte Amalie was the second largest city in the danish kingdom in 1850.
It was the capital in the danish West Indian Islands on St. Thomas.
There are many buildings from the danish colony time from 1672 untill 1917 when St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix were sold to the USA for 25 mio US Dollar after a public voting.

During the battle of the danish prussian war april 18th. 1864 at Dybbøl two danish soldiers were wounded nearby this house. The owners of the house, Kathrine og Jorgen Fink, took the soldiers to them and layed them in their bed and nursed them. They died shortly ater and Jorgen burried them in their garden.
