Battle of Britain airfields

Battle of Britain airfields

This is a collection of most of the airfields used by the Royal Airforce defending Great Britain in the Battle of Britain in WWII.
Some airfields may torn down, I wasn't able to find all of them. Some positions of airfields are uncertain as there is no longer an airfield but due to size and shape it might be a former airfield.
Corrections, suggestions and comments are welcome.

German airfields in World War II (V1.0)

This file contains most of the larger airfields, which was used by the german Luftwaffe during World War II. Small landing strips are hard to find, but maybe I will find them.

The airfields are sorted in the Luftgaukommandos 1940 (Air Force Command).

Old Airfield Hangar near to Willersley, Herefordshire

It's hard to believe now, but in the early days of aviation there were more than a dozen little airfields scattered along the banks of the River Wye, running through Herefordshire. The location and history of these airfields is listed in a book called "Wings Over The Wye". This early aircraft hangar is probably the only one remaining from those early times, now used for agricultural p...
