This plane doesn't look like it's taking off (no shadow), nor does it look like it's taxiing (no place to taxi to..its a deadend). But the plane is facing NW, in the opposite direction the arrows are facing (SE). What IS this plane doing?
A plane landing at Keahole airport, Hawaii. I'm pretty sure this plane is landing because it has already developed the blue "ghost" effect, which comes when an object is traveling very fast. If the plane were taking off, the blue effect wouldn't be there yet, because the plane couldn't accelerate in such a short distance from the end of the runway.
Oil droplets bubble to the surface of Pearl Harbor above the USS Arizona, creating a vivid link to the past. On a quiet Sunday morning December 7, 1941 a Japanese surprise air attack left the Pacific Fleet in smoldering heaps of broken, twisted steel. Here, peace was interrupted and paradise lost. In hours, 2,390 futures were stolen, half of these casualties from the battleship Arizona.
A small plane about to takeoff from Liepaja East in Latvia. Come to think of it, it doesn't actually look like its taking off, the angle of the front of the plane is wrong. But anyways, a little plane in Latvia.
A camouflaged plane landing at the Beijing Capital airport. The plane seems to be taking off because
A. If you look at the runway to the east, ~8 planes are waiting for takeoff. Therefore, that runway must be the takeoff runway, designating the other (this one) as the landing runway.
But, a counterargument:
A. This is a long runway and a small plane, so shouldn't...
