It was here in a tent on may 4th. 1945 Field marschal Montgomery and Admiral von Friedeburg signed the german capitulation, and that had effect from may 5th.
After the war the britons build up a memorial but it was taken away again 1953 and brought to Sandhurst military academy.

The Police HQ in Copenhagen was built from original drawings by Hack Kampmann, 1918 to 1924, and is still in use today. It is a neoclassic design with a central pillared rotunda. Easily one of the ugliest buildings in Copenhagen it is nevertheless a true landmark of the city.
