The Hans Egede was a wooden, auxiliary 3-masted ship, built in 1922 by J. Th. Jorgensen at Thuro, Denmark. It was reported damaged by fire on 21 August 1955. and towed to Dover where the fire was extinguished. This is/was Johnny Cash's home for 35 years in Hendersonville TN until he died in september 2003.

Barry Gibb from The Bee Gees purchased it for 2.3 mio $ in 2006. But on april 11. 2007, shortly before Barry Gibb wanted to move in it burned down. The fire began shortly before 2pm.

Allied reconnaissance photograph of the Deutsche Werke shipyard in Kiel, taken shortly after the Scharnhorst arrived here after the Operation "Cerberus".
