This is a dune called shifting sands in Tanzania. The wind blows it across the plains about 50 ft a year and keeps it the same shape. There is a smaller one a bit to the north.
Raabjerg Mile is also one of the biggest dunes in Europe.
It contains about 3.5 mio m3 sand and is 35 to 40 meters high. It moves to the northeast 0-30 meters a year when it's windy weather up to stormy weather.
You can actually see the track the dune has taken over the years.

At the beach near Cap Breton in Aquitane, France, you can see the remains of Bunkers which should protect occupied France for the landing of the allied Forces. These Bunkers are now, 60 years later, washed out by the sea of the Dunes where they originally where placed. They were never used, because the D-Day invasion occured some 300 miles away in the north of France.
