The so-called Golden Triangle marks the border-triangle between Thailand, Laos and Myanmar (Burma) on the Mekhong River. The name is also used to described the region, which was once (in)famous for being the world´s main production area for poppies whose substances are subsequently refined into opium and heroin. It is now surpassed by Afghanistan which produces 90% of the world´s opium.

In Wesley Bolin Plaza in downtown Phoenix, you can view one of the anchors of the USS Arizona and one of her two masts. The mast and 16,000 pound anchor were salvaged from the Arizona after she was sunk by the Japanese in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941. The Arizona's other anchor is currently displayed at the Pearl Harbor museum in Hawaii.
