The Great Ziggurat was built around 2100 BC by Ur-Nammu, the Sumerian King of Ur. It served as a place of worship, dedicated to the moon god Nanna. Southeast of the Ziggurat are the Royal Tombs. Ur-Nammu is the creator of the oldest known law code, predating Hammurabi by 300 years.
Originally constructed for the Money Store, this 11-story corporate office building is a prominent landmark that fronts the Sacramento River. The ziggurat can accommodate 2,000 permanent employees.
