found this yesterday, not sure what it is, can some one explain,
its a 30m x 40m cross, theres a runway near by where a B52 supposedly crashed this site is NE (more on the north side) 1.80 km away.
there are no roads linking the strange mounds (another post) to the cross, just wondered what it was.
there are black holes around aswell, can some one explain these?
examples of these NW 0.7(ish)km away.
whole area looks to me like a sand quarry, need lotsa sand to make concrete. see the scraper marks around the cross, i think the cross is the loading/unloading ramps for the earthmoving equip. it looks like they are working in that area, lotsa access roads etc. the newly uncovered sand is a lighter colour than the 'sunburnt / polluted' sand on the other side of the road. radar/radio post to the north,

BDAN seems to be correct.
I was wondering that why should someone make a crossover bridge in the midst of nowhere.
Loading ramp seems to be the correct explanation.

Im in deepest darkest Africa !
There dosent seem to be many of us.
Im using a laptop thats running win98 with a wyfi supposed broardband connection which is slower than my land line connection at home, unfortunatly the cost on the landline is horrific :hair: .
Is there any way i can run GE on win98 OS ?
Sorry forgot to mention Im using google maps at the moment.

BDan, there's not much out there that still works on Win 98. Regretfully, Google Earth is one of those that won't work on W98.
Here are the minimum and recommended configurations from the Earth.Google website (http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html):
Minimum configuration for PC:
Operating System: Windows 2000 or Windows XP
CPU: Pentium 3, 500Mhz
System Memory (RAM): 128MB
Hard Disk: 400MB free space
Network Speed: 128 Kbits/sec
Graphics Card: 3D-capable with 16MB of VRAM
Screen: 1024x768, "16-bit High Color"Recommended configuration for PC:
Operating System: Windows XP or Windows Vista
CPU: Pentium 4 2.4GHz+ or AMD 2400xp+
System Memory (RAM): 512MB
Hard Disk: 2GB free space
Network Speed: 768 Kbits/sec
Graphics Card: 3D-capable with 32MB of VRAM
Screen: 1280x1024, "32-bit True Color"
Thanks anyway.
I will 'Plot' on with my Maps !:givebeer:
Ha Ha (laughs at own silly joke then comments on it) "bring the strait jacket".

You are not alone.
In my office I am behind firewall and so GE does not work. So I use Wikimapia or Googlemaps there.
Problem comes with kmz files ; works fine if Lat/Long are known.
