The 'ship dumping' is a dredger working at keeping the ship lanes deep enough to meet requirements. They usually only dump in shallow water to begin new man-made islands. It's difficult to say if it's drawing up sediment or dumping, but it might be dumping the silt it picked up from the nearby channel.

It maybe a dredger, however many countries around the world dump raw or treated sewage at sea, which is awful when you think about it. You can also see birds feeding of it, whatever it is....?

I agree with Munden. The ship design looks like a dredger. There is a well defined dark deep-water channel just to the West of the ship which seems to lead to a marina in the bay to the South. Maybe the ship is just dumping silt it has picked up from the channel. As for birds?? :slant: My Google Earth doesn't yet have the definition to see anything as small as birds! Anyway, I doubt Fremantle would dump raw sewage as close as 5 km from the main harbour entrance.

I don't think birds can be that big.

As for the bird in GE, there is a thread which talked of a bird from an imagery from an aircraft. I will post the reference later.
