View Full Version : A Camera picture in Google earth
Am i the only one who sees this or do others also. A camera picture of some ice right next to an island or ice berg or something. Or just a badly placed satelite photo.
6182 zoom in a little.

Welcome aboard GE, Acke.
There are two types of images.
Low resolution: It does not show great details but covers a larger area.
Hi Resolution: They show very good amount of details ( e.g. even birds .. just see the other thread ) but cover a small area obviously.
GE uses a combination of both types and most of the sea images are Lo res but some islands are in hi res. So those high resolution images appear as if they are photographs from camera ( or it is the other way .. larger stretches do not appear to be hi res although they are from the camera )
They are rectangular because the camera generally scans any area in North-South direction.
