I now am shocked !! Bulgaria finally has new imagery ... Sofia , no longer has those stupid clouds , the pictures are likely from early 2006 (Mall of Sofia looks like it's built) , some other towns also have new imagery....

THANKS Google !!!

Go and check other cities in the world.... Sure there are many updates...

I'm sorry for you but Sofia isn't updated. It's still the same photo as it has been for month. :(

The Alexander Newski Cathedral is still covered by the same cloud and there is a market outside the NDK.

No , you are wrong... I am not crazy , there is new imagery for Sofia , it is from early 2006 because Mall of Sofia looks like it's built already, Al.Nevsky Cathedral , the Largo and everything else can be seen. I am not lying.. The update , I am sure it was made today.. Well , the resolution is almost the same as the one before , but it's good that the pictures are new and there aren't any clouds.

Also I saw that other cities like Varna,Burgas,Vidin and some other smaller have also new imagery.

Sorry I have looked twice and it's the old images. If you turn on Digital Globe Coverage you'll see the dates of the images. None say october 2nd. 2007.

So you have to be patience.

Hmmm - I downloaded this file (http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile13997/Alexander-Nevsky-Cathedral---Sofia,-Bulgaria.htm) and there is no cloud above the cathedral. Interesting that there is a cloud in the Google Maps version, but there is not a cloud in Google Earth.

And - the thumbnail created when my friend stefankarakashev uploaded the file on 1-16-06 shows the cathedral without a cloud, so it would seem that there haven't been clouds above the cathedral for over 18 months.

Here there are.... See for yourself. There are new pictures , I am not lying. And ''Appletorn'' this is the third update for Sofia City. The first was from the beggining of Google Earth , and the pictures were very old (maybe from 2002) , then in October 2006 Google Put some newer pictures , but the whole centre was covered with clouds. And now you see , they have updated with new pictures from July or August 2006 , and also they have updated some other Bulgarian cities with the most important - Varna. Varna is also mentioned in the Google LatLong clues about the new update.

OK I appologize to you, you are right. :givebeer:

I just started the GE up again and the new image was there. When I started up earlier it was the old one with clouds. As appeltom says: Very strange.

Couple things......Google Maps imagery doesn't always match Google Earth. Also, the date shown for Digital Globe layer in GE, doesn't tell you anything about the date of the imagery.

Did Catalonia, Spain get an update?

Yeah, parts of it did. Some of the satellite tiles in the old imagery were there before, but there are a quite a few new tiles there.
