..i could not find an answer in the archives...does anybody know what or why this house is covered by some layer?

There's a placemark near it in the Google Earth Community (GEC) layer which says that the house of the Thai Princess Sirindorn is nearby. It could be that.

It's the border around the house that makes it look edited. I'd think it was a walkway or something similar, but I don't see shadows on it. It might be a balcony of sorts along the edge of the roof, though. It seems a bit odd that they'd edit a house to hide it by putting in something of of a very similar shape. The walls that come down do seem to be the same shape.

I can see it going either way, but I THINK it's just a border on the roof rather than an attempt to censor the image.

It could be an external object ( image of some other house which is not here at all ) which has been cut and pasted here. Definitely this is not the real object.

They might have just added a 'new' red roof from somewhere else over the actual palace underneath.
