I once read a science fiction story about a 'universal viewer' - a government owned device which could look through walls and spy on anyone, anywhere, anytime.
Ok, granted the tech hasn't quite got that far - but does this ring a bell with anyone...?!

"They" don't need to look through your walls, as long you're online ;)

True that they cannot "see" through walls, but they can pick up a heat signature of any living being through the wall.

Book 1984 and movie Deja Vu had something like that. I seem to remember it in a couple other movies as well.
I've also read about technology that can see what's on a computer monitor through a wall.

Look, what I'm hinting at is hardly surprising nor unpredictable.
Being able to see where individuals are, what they are doing etc is just over the scientific horizon and, for all I know, is probably already with us in military applications.
Welcome to the Brave New World. If Big Brother isn't already watching you, he certainly has plans to.
I'd be surprised if GE hasn't already been used as evidence in court cases. Successor systems will almost certainly work in real time and allow a 'goldfish bowl world' like never before.
You can throw away all concepts you ever had of 'privacy'.
