This is a discussion thread for the following file:<br><br><b><a href=http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile28287/LCC-19-Blue-Ridge.htm>LCC-19 Blue Ridge</a></b><br><br>The USS Blue Ridge is an Amphibious Command Ship with the US Navy, which has since filled the roll of flagship for the US 7th Fleet. It's stationed down in Yokosuka and is in fact visible in dry dock there. This placemark is in Tokyo, however, as the ship has made a small trip up there.<br />

It's a high quality image with excellent detail.<br />

This image was taken in the fall, as noted by many trees having changed color nearby. The ship is is very likely on its family, friends, and guests tour mentioned in this article:

No surprise I couldn't identify this ship. I was only looking at Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and not the U.S. Navy :P
The ship attracted my attention because of its size and the nearness to Tokyo city centre. Besides it has a racy shape and the clean deck has only a few superstructures.
Great find and information. I really like it.
