I just updated google earth and i only get now low resolution images!!
I tried everything but it doesnt work. I actually installed the old version on my laptop and the new on the desktop to see the "option" menu and they are the same. But at the new one the images are worst.
Anybody got an idea?

What areas are we talking about? Some locations are still in low resolution. Try looking at Las Vegas. IF that's still low resolution, post us some screenshots.
Also, have you tried clearing your cache? Tools -> Options -> Cache -> Clear Cache. Theres two choices, I'm not actually sure which one to use...

Sounds like the server login failed and it's not uploading any imagery on the new computer. That'd be my guess barring any new information.

Several things can cause this... Monitor settings, different video graphics cards, memory,
Which computer is the clear one from? Verify the monitor settings on that one and try to set the other the same.

I got nothing. I just tried everything to reproduce your problem, but with no love. The only suggestion I have is to uninstall GE and reinstall it. And by uninstall, I mean uninstall the program, then remove all the crap it left behind in Application Data.
My only idea is that you have some odd setting or another inadvertently tweaked somehow. You might get lucky and a clean install may set it right.

Have you tried changing from OpenGL to DirectX or vice versa?
What happens if you try to view somewhere you've never looked at before? Does it come in clear anywhere? Try Las Vegas.
What kind of video card do you have?

Hi Matt,
did that already. (OpenGl and DirectX)
I looked all over the planet. Its always the same quality. Here is a pic from Las Vegas.
I have the Geforce 8800GTS (G92) with the latest drivers.

One thing I would do is to go back in and reset the 'Detail Area' to Large.
It should be in the first tab in the Options menu labeled "3D View" and "Detail Area" is in the upper right. That defines how much of the image you're looking at will be the maximum detail. For people with lesser computers or really bad connections, it helps to limit the amount of data transferred.
It really looks like yours isn't set to Large. I don't think that will resolve your problems even if it does improve them a little. (assuming I'm right anyway)

Sorry....I'm stumpted. Short of reinstalling Windows, doesn't sound like there's much else you can do.
Did you try smashing your computer with a sledgehammer and then throwing it on the ground and stomping on it with your boots? That probably won't fix the problem but might make you feel better :givebeer:

You only say 'old' and 'new' versions of GE. Can you be more specific?

Alright - I'm stumped. I have an idea for a workaround, though -
Uninstall all versions of GE.
Install the old version, and test it to be sure it works properly.
Navigate your way to C:=>Program Files=>Google=>Google Earth
Copy the file: drivers.ini to a safe place
Uninstall GE and install the new version
Overwrite the drivers.ini file in the new installation with the one you copied earlier
Try it out in both OpenGL and DirectX (I think the drivers.ini file is for use with DirectX, but I'm not sure)
This may or may not work (I have no way of testing it). If it does, hang onto that copy of drivers.ini for use with future versions.
Good luck.

I got the very same problem as soon as I updated to the the new Google_Earth_BZXV.exe version. A lot of detail is gone, from places that I had very good detail on the older version.:slant:

Have either of you tried emailing or talking to the "official" Google earth people? Not sure if they'll respond promptly, but its worth the effort..
