I am not getting any sunlight detail especially when I drag the time slider when its tilted on mountains, I only see the ground dark but nothing happening to the sky. Do you need some kind of special graphics or something, what graphics do you need to download, because I have a good one, Intel Pentium 4 with ht technology, isn't that good enough??, I also downloaded Direct X 9.0.:mad::mad:

You're talking about the 4.3 beta, I'm not sure. It all worked automatically for me. Do you have your terrain turned on? If that's not on, the ground is just flat so it won't shade for ridges, hills, and mountains.

"Pentium Intel" is just your CPU rather than your graphics card, but if it can run the basic 4.3 beta I'd imagine it can handle the terrain shading.

Two thoughts:

- Try switching from "OpenGL" to DirectX" (or vice-versa). This can be found under "tools", "options", in the "Graphics Mode" box in the top right corner of the "3D View" tab.
- Does the sky not change at all? Look at the two attached screenshots. Not only does the ground go dark, but the sky change from blue to black. Does yours stay blue at night?

yeah the sky stays blue, but the ground changes dark. I have a very good computer, dell pentium 4 ht technolodgy, but i am not sure if it has a graphics card.

How about the OpenGL/DirectX switch that I suggested?

I have the same problem. On my PC at home (Core2Duo, nVidia 7800GTs in SLI, Vista, GE4.3beta), the sky darkens and the sun shows. But on my laptop (CentrinoDuo, Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family, Vista, GE4.3beta) only the land darkens. The sky remains blue and lit and no sun shows.

I will be giving a "Google Earth in the Classroom" demonstration for my school system next month and would appreciate any help so I can know how to help.

i added some image attachments, if you notice the difference, mine is like the one on the left, which is the older google earth version. Its supposed to be the second one on the right, the beta version. Thats why the sunlight new feature does not work.

Now that you've uploaded pictures..I gotta say mine doesn't work either. But I don't mind at all..
