I have the coordinates... 05:53:38.0, -06:00:29.0

just copy and paste this into your google sky location and take a look. wondering if anyone here could shed some light on what it is... maybe a satellite that is in the way of the camera. I am curious... so that is why i am posting this. Peace.

Here is the quick link to the black box on google sky (http://www.google.com/sky/#latitude=-6.008056&longitude=-91.591668&zoom=10&Spitzer=0.00&ChandraXO=0.00&Galex=0.00&IRAS=0.00&WMAP=0.00&Cassini=0.00&slide=1&mI=-1&oI=-1)

But there's no black box on SKY-MAP.ORG (http://www.sky-map.org/?ra=5.894&de=-6&zoom=8&show_box=1&box_ra=5.894&box_de=-6&box_width=70&box_height=140&box_var_size=1&img_source=DSS2)
So it's definitely not an alien starship garage ;)

Cheers :givebeer:

But who tell me what is that blue spot at Google Sky (http://www.google.com/sky/#latitude=-2.80931373428687&longitude=-88.71768951416016&zoom=12&Spitzer=0.00&ChandraXO=0.00&Galex=0.00&IRAS=0.00&WMAP=0.00&Cassini=0.00&slide=1&mI=-1&oI=-1)
And same spot is present at SKY-MAP (http://www.sky-map.org/?ra=6.086&de=-2.82&zoom=10&img_source=DSS2)

Hi and welcome to both of you.

It's just an error when mapping was made and a piece was missing. You see more of them in GE, great and small.

Your find is here:
http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile26846/Rectangle-in-Sky.htm

But also the Borg ship from Star Trek:
http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile26873/Strange-image.htm

On GE:
http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile29198/Black-Box.htm
http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile28914/Missing-Image.htm
http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile27052/Image-Errror.htm
http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile27032/Blue-Patch.htm

And many more.

Or wrong placed:
http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile26967/weird-alignment.htm
http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile27237/Misaligned-Image.htm
http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile27528/8x8-and-8x24-same-photos-together.htm

Just take a look at our directory here:
http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlcatn12/Strange-Map-Quirks.htm

So you are welcome to search Sky and Earth for mistakes but also other things interesting. But please check up if it's not found yet. You could make a big story for something found but we mods have to deny it. Sad for your hard work.

Have fun with us. :yep:
