Attaching .kmz files to forum messages

I see some people are able to attach a .kmz file to forum messages, but when I tried it failed, think it something to do with the extention...

Can someone enlighten me?

People have been linking to them rather than directly attaching them.

I just went ahead and enabled KML and KMZ in the file attachment options. However, please continue to add your files to our main file area (http://www.googleearthhacks.com/forums/downloads.php?do=add), as that's where the vast majority of people go to get files.

here is an icon for the kmz files...

...just put it in "/images/attach/"

Just some times the .kmz is only relavent to one thread. I don't think you guys really want 500 "What is this" type .kmz in your downloads?

Or is there another way we should be sharing these sort of locations?
