hi,

i am new to this Google Earth, and i am having little bit of problem in understanding how to work in it?

so far i have managed to find my locations and place a placement mark on my house....and saved the file that was stored in MY PLACE to my Hard Disk.

now the problem is i don't know how to view my marked house from other place or from my friends pc other than my pc...i read the tutorial that the file has to be loaded on to website or something like that i didn't understand a bit of how/where to load the file and how to download/view that file from other pc rather than my pc...

plz somebody help me..

thanks

Okay. I'll try to explain as best as possible. When you make a placemark on Google Earth and have it listed in your My Places folde,r it will only be available on your own pc (as you're probably experiencing). There are luckily quite a few options for viewing files on another computer. I'll list a few.

1. Save the placemark. Right click and press "Save Place As". Feel free to save it as anything, such as "My House", but make sure you are saving it as a KMZ file. Save it somewhere you will remember it, such as a folder named "GE", or your desktop. Now, you can do a few things with it:
A. E-mail it to yourself. Create a new email and attach the file you just saved.
B. Put it on a server. If you have a home server you can store it there, and any computer on your server can look at it. This depends on what you're using.
C. Load it to a website. If you have a personal website, you can do this a few ways, but I personally suggest an imbedded Google Maps view of it..
Load it to GEH (Google Earth Hacks). Either in the forums (you can post it in the where do you live thread (http://www.gearthhacks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6312&page=5), create your own thread, or laod it as a file).
2. Save the coordinates. Right click your file and save your Lat/Long. Example: 36°51'56.21"N 76°19'0.20"W.
With these numbers (you can copy and paste them, or write them down), you can easily access your file with most mapping programs, including Google Maps and Google Earth. Just paste/type in the coords and it'll go there. The disadvantage of this method is if you have additional information in your placemark (such as a picture, a description, or a link to something), the coord method will not save this information.

Hope this helps. =)
