I know that for now we only have Street View style images in the USA, but it seems fun to go back and see what sorts of prices we can find. The biggest problem for me is finding a station where the image is actually clear enough to read the price.

I'm curious what we find for the highest, but mostly what we find for the lowest visible price. Here's one to start folks off:

South of San Antonio Texas (http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=29.355818,-98.425215&spn=0.00591,0.01001&t=h&z=17&layer=c&cbll=29.353827,-98.424893&panoid=yxQnrvsVtIZ0bPhXJ2JdWg&cbp=1,63.25918870693948,,1,-7.480730966125181): $2.83 / gallon for regular. ('regular' is the lowest octane rating, for those not familiar with the way the US refers to gasoline grades)

ha, whoops. I went to LA to look for high prices and found this one even lower than the other one.

Near downtown LA, S Union St (http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=34.049957,-118.274297&spn=0.002809,0.005005&t=h&z=18&layer=c&cbll=34.049011,-118.274289&panoid=ZdYy_XdDZ9afQVeASJQiAg&cbp=1,320.8863778571757,,1,-6.925048237925317): $2.45 for regular

Legible gas station price signs are okay, I suppose... but how about legible gas pumps?

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=43.031004,-76.125298&spn=0.058098,0.128574&z=13&layer=c&cbll=43.002047,-76.129881&panoid=ZecHCGioONizMAlhp6r0TA&cbp=1,356.9263081788089,,1,16.496690178294113

That's right, looks like the Goolge car stopped while driving the Syracuse area to gas up at this station on the route I drive to work every day. Or at least it's between the pumps, behind another car, though not actually filling up at the moment the picture was taken. (Pan around.)

Between the price of gas and the political campaign signs in front of some of the houses as you head down Seneca Turnpike, I'd say these pictures were taken around October, 2007.
