Lorelei Rock

The famous rock of Lorelei (or Loreley), which would be familiar to all fans of Richard Wagner´s "Ring of the Nibelung" has a double in quite a remote place :-)
This is probably due to the fact that the surrounding country was once a German colony.

That's funny! So the Orange River ist the South African/Namibian River Rhine? ;-)

Yes, Jericho, guess so, just without the vineyards around it. :-)
Those early settlers must have been very homesick.....
A couple of years ago I paddled on the Orange River and it IS a barren, desolate area. I liked it anyway!
