unable to connect error message

I have had a new computer using vista for about six months. I downloaded google earth and it worked fine for about four months. Now when I try to connect I get the message "We were unable to connect to Google Earth servers to activate your account". I do not know what caused this problem, nor do I know how to solve it. Anyone with any ideas that might solve this connection problem for me?

May have already tried this, but try reinstalling GE.

If the Re-install doesn't work, then might I ask what Web Browser you are using? I've had the same problem.
