Hi,
I am new in the community. I see that there is a lot of fantastic collection that help everybody to their work.
I do not know if my question was answered in the past.
Is it possible to find when the google map data taken?
i.e
I have in GoogleEarth the map of Corfu (greek island). Is it possible to found when google earth take the image (day - month or at least year).
Thank you in advance!
Nikolas

Corfu is from 17. Aug 2004.
You find this information on the bottom line right side in GE.
But not for all places, just point the cursor around until it pops up ;)

Thank you very much Martin for your response.
So 4 years since now!
I believe that google earth "scan" all earth with 1-2 years diference from now. Is there any other service of google earth that could give more recent data?

No, both Google Maps and Google Earth use the same data. If they eventually take some Street View images, those will certainly be newer, but there's no way to know when (or if) they will get to that. The area where I work is SIX years out of date. :) The roads have changed dramatically since then.

You might be able to buy more recent data directly from DigitalGlobe or Spot, but it will be a lot of money. For example, if you turn on the Spot Image layer underneath "More" menu in Google Earth, you will see Spot has 2.5 meter image from 2008 for your area and it would cost 8,100 Euros to buy. You can search http://browse.digitalglobe.com/imagefinder/ to see what else digital globe has in the area.

Once again thank you all.
It is a new area for me and there is a lot of question and more, ideas that someone can get from all that. Of course the cost is sometimes the only reason for some decisions but there is more inspiration from this technology.
