Isn't that kind of unfair asking us the answer and then claiming you found it on that website?

I find it to be an amazing use of available resources.

The competition states that you can find it anyway you can? I am still looking however I thought I would ask if any of you guys had any ideas. Is that a problem? Whose resources? Yours or internet bandwidth in general?

No no, nevermind. It does say any sources. Hmm, I have no idea where it is though. The coloration makes me think of the Netherlands/Belgium, but idk..

Is that a problem?
Absolutely not. I think it's a great idea - in re-reading my earlier post I can see where my amazement could be ambigious. I admire you for coming here and asking for help.
And I wish I could help, but I have no idea where this is.

The imagery in question is might be the 2m type of SPOT imagery. Look in those areas. They do leave some clues in the image. You can see the beach on the lower right for instance, note also the reasonably large coastal cities and the curving marina leading back from the beach.
The patterns in the tidal area can also indicate rice fields, so Asian countries are possible as well. If it is SPOT imagery, there's not as much in Asia though.
EDIT: When shrinking high-res imagery, it will look more like SPOT images, so I can't really be dogmatic in stating it's SPOT imagery. :)

I was right, it was SPOT imagery. I kept thinking 'Spain' but had to start looking at other areas in other countries nearby.

Darn nice find Munden. I was 99% sure it was in Europe, but didn't think to look in France.

It's even embarrasing you don't see it when you have been there. It's the salt production fields of Saillé (salt). :brick::brick::brick::brick:

Thank you everyone.
SPOT is a French-based group that produces imagery from their satellites. These are lower-resolution than the DigitalGlobe satellite(s). Both the resolution and the equipment lend a certain color quality to the images, which is why it looked like an image from a SPOT satellite.

Digital Globe generally uses the name 'QuickBird' for their satellites
