If you tour the canal kml you will be on the second leg of the
journey across the country by water, described by
William Least Heat-Moon in River Horse. The boat
is named Nikawa, Osage: Ni for river/life; kawa for boat.

In high-res areas, the locks are clearly visible. In low-res
areas, some of the locks are not visible at all. Any corrections
are appreciated.

Do the tour on "Route"!

Using Tour on the Route path is almost like being dragged by a
mule on the canal: it's almost as slow. Now if there was only
a way to add an animated mule and barge in to the tour thing.

This would be a good way to run a race course: then you'd probably
want a car, but a mule would be amusing.

Should have said:
Nikawa, Osage: Ni for river/life; kawa for horse.
