This is a discussion thread for the following file:<br><br><b><a href=http://www.gearthhacks.com/dlfile24321/Censored-Bridge-in-New-York-State.htm>Censored Bridge in New York State</a></b><br><br>A censored bridge in NY State. It is probably part of a tactical route to be used by the military in case of whatever.<br />
There is a military base about 2.5 mi down the River(east), but it doesn't seems to be in use anymore.<br /><br /><img src=http://www.gearthhacks.com/showimage.php?image=new/080505/98398bridge.jpg>

Wow, it's like a bad acid trip! Go to Street view starting at the west end of the circle drive/ roundabout to the west. Then try to cross the bridge in Street view. Go on, I dare you! Or even try to view some of the user submitted images. Better hidden than area 51.

I think I have it figured out. The whole area has odd censoring both in overhead and StreetView. Just north of the bridge is Fort Montgomery and north of there is West Point Military Academy. Check some of the street views on Highway 9W.

I have no problem with crossing the bridge by Streetview (it's slightly difficult to go on the bridge, because of the other roads crossing on both sides) and looking normal from space on it. There is nothing sercet about the Bear Mountain Bridge.

Also look at Google and find dozend of photos showing the bridge.
