Each time I enter the text string in on the verification page, it keeps telling me itís an invalid string. This as happened 4 times in a row. If it was just once, I'd say user error. But I know that the last 3 times I entered the string correctly and still got the invalid string error.

On one I decided to keep trying until it worked. I had to enter the text 13 times before it gave me the next city. Help! I need GEOs!!!

Very strange. I haven't touched that code in a while. I just tried a few and they worked fine. Hmmm...

I haven't collected any jewels in the past day -- are the codes you're using still strictly alphanumeric? Could it be an issue with code pages, character sets or keyboard mapping?

I'm mired in unicode coversion stuff for work, so this is top-of-mind right now :)

Yep. In fact, they're all just hex characters (0-9 and a-f).

I've done a few more, and still haven't had a problem.

Mine appears to have been a one time deal. Everything seems to be working as normal now.

This happens to me all the time.
I enter the right code, but it says it is invalid.
Oh Well, thats what betas are for I guess. ;)

Yeah, It usually works the 2nd time. The most invalid entries I have had for the one jewel is 4.

I'm trying to spend an hour or two collecting jewels but rather than taking 40-50s a piece its taking upwards on 5mins because for 5 or 6 times for each jewel that i correctly enter a code i get invalid string. Its really getting quite infruriating because i am double/treble checking and alot of the images values are quite obvious in their value. But the more i try the longer its taking and my hunting is becoming nigh on fruitless. :whine:

Sorry for ranting but i've a tough 30 mins with this error! apart from that further kudos on the game ;)

Weird...i don't have the problem...
Are you using Internet Explorer or the internal browser of Google earth?

Its still happening as i speak, seems to go on for about 4 or 5 times and then eventually lets me have it! :slant:

Is IE any better?

Thanks

I'm now trying an external browser but its making no difference. Here's screenshots of the last two in case i am actually being stupid!! Wouldn't be the first time!!!

Thanks

I'm using the internal browser but almost every time it's right.
Just one in 20 might be off here.
Could it possible be that the ones getting it wrong most of the times are moving too fast for the sync between google earth and the server?

Im trying to collect my first jewel, I must have tried it 20 times using the internal browser and I get 'Invalid verification string' every time. I tried it in an external browser and the same thing happens. :whine:

I don't understand. I haven't had an invalid verification string for over half an hour now. I just keep on going.
Tried refreshing your browser?

I just made a number of changes to the back-end of the system that will hopefully help. Let me know what it does for you.

Since about 15 minutes it's ok. I can collect jewels again.
