Conversion Rates Changing?

Recently the resource conversion rates have been shifting around a bit.

Is Mickey manually adjusting them to find the fairest values or are resource prices fluctuating due to an open market trading system?

(I'm assuming the former, but hoping for the latter)

They were adjusted after he implemented the verification code for gaining jewels. This was due to the outcry that it was too tough to collect jewels and the rate should be higher. As far as I know, he is stil tinkering with them (game is still in beta status) to determine the best rates.

It's on a sliding scale, based on demand. However, I still tinker with the scale from time to time, so the answer to your question is both. :)
