Is it time to add more resources to the game??

Maybe another oil field in the Gulf of Mexico??

A coal mine in West Virginia??

It seems to be increasingly difficult to locate spots to mine/plant/dig for resources. Do we need to unleash upon Rasqual Mickey so that we can have our new resource created by tomorrow morning??

Though I really like the chinese puzzle of finding a spot for your oil fields and trying to fit the shape of a diamond between 5 others.....
My armies would like Potato's.....so i say yes.

It might be worth considering which resources are the main inputs to warfare. Even if they aren't traded on a market yet, it will set things up for when they are.
Either uranium or plutonium might be a good one.

hi i love what u have done as it is realy a good device to examane ourselfs as a race ......so learning from how we have botched things so badly on this GEwar program we call earth WE NEED INt-DER-STREE, and spelling lesons lol.
But what im saying
:1 is there a way you could make it so that we can add to the vel-u of a city by producing infullstructure eg steel mill, timber mills,so on that may be traded or combined to help genarate more spending dosh,or resorses for your armys.
:2 making an air force that can strick on comming armys. {the bastards}
:3 split the whole thing in to 3 gropes.
left wing
right wing
and hippies lol i cant help myself.
have certin contrys 4 cretin partys and fight 4 the rest the old fasoned way conternent by conternet with lashings of spelling lesons for everyone
:4and instead of making the game with a time limmit have a person limmit say 6-10 pople per world or something so there are like heaps of worls for us to examan oursels and our own naters

Though John Doe reminds me most of that guy in Allo Allo (I will tell this uhnly wants), he does have a point.

I second his post.
Though some may not take the time to read it because they're too busy finding a spot for their resources.
So just say you agree with us and we'll move on :)

the guy doesnt say "i shall say this only once", the resistance lady does.

And Jhon Doe, i know you probably do this on purpose (your name missspelled?...), but if you dont, repost and take more time typing it..

just joking but heres some serious ones

1. lumber? Find a huge forest (or a country/state/province where it is a huge income and put it there.
2. I believe Las Vegas casinos were mentioned in another thread
3. fishing? (I'll leave that open for discussion)
4. Farms? (again open for discussion)

and this dosn't have alot to do with resources; but how about adding more stuff in the store?

Here's a quick list of resources traded at the NY Mercantile Exchange (real-world exhange rates, perhaps?), which could possibly be used:

Natural Gas
Propane
Gold/Silver
Copper
Platinum
Palladium

Other than that, I know that there's lots of rubber produced in Brazil and Southeast Asia.

tombstone, i think we're looking for more location bound recourses for now.

Maby we'll have local recources someday.

Regardless of what the resources actually are, I feel that one or two more should be added. We can't get carried away with this though; just add a few at a time.

And I think that sticking to the theme of actual natural resources (i.e. gold, rubber, , as opposed to casinos and farms), would be good, for pure consistancy sake.

And maybe the financial numbers behind each resource could be vastly different. For example, creating a rubber (mine?) might be a big gamble, while planting trees would be a stable way to ensure gradual income. (Kind of like the "cotton = long term vs. diamonds = short term" system currently). This option would allow players to mold their finances to their needs and likings.

EDIT: (And I think the poll results testify to the overwhelmingly one-sided opinion of the majority, and that this should be taken into account by Mickey/rasqual (even tho i thought rasqual had nothing to do with production other than incredible well-thought-out suggestions))

So far be can clothe our soldiers with cotton and move the armies with oil and ... umm ..... bedazzle their uniforms with diamonds......

What are there guns made out of?

There is a massive steel industry in lots of places, I nominate Australia.

Uranium for nuclear weapons

other metals like gold

I like what Cato said about some being short term high gain and others being long term steady gain.

Maybe we could invest extra in our mines in some way, like hiring better staff, to increase output?

He doesn't. He just does an excellent job of requiring deadlines for Mickey to meet when adding features to the game.

Deadlines don't motivate him. I have it on good authority that good food and evenings at home -- without the clamor of rowdy GEW participants on the sidwewalk outside -- just make his day.

He's imperturbable, folks. Go ahead, just TRY to provoke this guy. Unless we show up on his sidewalk BEFORE supper, it won't happen. ;-)
