I don't doubt that this is a nuclear power station... prime location for it next to a big body of water. But I don't see any cooling ponds or cooling towers. Were they just pumping the hot water used for cooling the reactor straight back into the sea?

Maybe someone who knows a bit more about nuclear power plants could enlighten me?

Yes, when you are next to such a big body of water as the ěresund, you don't need to build anything expensive. Just take in cold water and let warmer water back out again.
