Anybody know what these are?
From this webpage (http://www.sfo.com/~parvin/geology.html):
"Now when you fly over the area in parts of Nebraska and Kansas, you may be surprised to see a very large number of green circles on the ground. These circles, most of which are a half-mile in diameter, are irrigated with central pivot sprinkler irrigation systems. You will see many of these circles if you travel on I-70 through eastern Colorado."
An aerial photo here (http://terraserver-usa.com/image.aspx?t=1&s=14&x=229&y=1360&z=13&w=1&ref=P|Burlington,%20Colorado,%20United%20States).
Apparently, they have the same system in South Africa.

There are circular crop fields. The geometry is because the irrigation system (center pivot water jet).
Hope helps.
