strange object in athens! Is it a roof, or what?

Has someone any idea what this colored disc is?
It's pretty large and you can find it in the middle of a big park
in the heart of Athens. At first sight it looks like a roof or so, but I'm not sure.
Who can help?

Looks like the roof to a theather,an outdoor theather (no roof), some type of olympic area, or a type of manmade sculpture.
