View Full Version : Jewel rates, and other resource rates

I'm considering removing the sliding jewel rate and making it fixed again, although likely at a lower rate.

My thought is that I'll make them a flat 1 Geo per jewel rate. I figure the lower rate is, the less likely someone will try to take advantage of it. This will also eliminate the popular second-account-for-jewel-hunting-only scam.

Also, I'm thinking it might be neat to vary the costs of the other three resources. Say, make oil wells cost 100 Geos (and give the most return), diamond mines cost 60 Geos (average returns) and cotton fields costs 30 Geos (nominal returns, but still profitable).

Thoughts on both ideas?

You could make Jewel money untransferable. Put it in other bank account that could only be used for the person who has the jewels. Just a thought

I think those are great ideas who give all players the same fairness.

Tie all 4 together.

If people are hunting for Jewels a lot, then the exchange rate for the jewel hunting goes down, while the exchange rate for oil, diamonds, and cotton goes up.

If lots of people are going for oil and the oil field is full, then the value of the oil goes down, while the value of the other 3 goes up.

Just my .02 Geos.

Finally a possible solution to this horrable problem!!!

You would definately have to make the oil well field larger or even make another field in a different place.

Sounds like a very good idea.
That way newbies can really 'invest' money in different ways.
