are you sure that this is A380? i'm absolutely no expert on planes but from the point of how old most of the pictures are I doubt that this is A380.
please correct me if I'm wrong - thx.

This can't be A380, the manufactoring buildings are not finished ( to the left of the picture, next to the second Concorde ). What you can see must be two A340-600.

I do agree : this is NOT a A380 !

According to Airbus specifications the 4 engines one is more likely a A340-300 or A340-500.

A380 Dimensions :
Overall length : 73 m
Fuselage diameter : 7.14 m
Wingspan (geometric) : 79.8 m

A340-300 Dimensions :
Overall length : 63.6 m
Fuselage diameter : 5.64 m
Wingspan (geometric) : 63.45 m

A340-500 Dimensions :
Overall length : 67.9 m
Fuselage diameter : 5.64 m
Wingspan (geometric) : 63.45 m

4 engines "Target" Dimensions (approx. measured within GE) :
Overall length : 65 m
Fuselage diameter : 5.6 m
Wingspan (geometric) : 60.5 m

The 2 engines one seems to be closer to a A330-200 as it is a 2 engines aircraft...

A330-200 Dimensions :
Overall length : 59.0 m
Fuselage diameter : 5.64 m
Wingspan (geometric) : 60.3 m

2 engines "Target" Dimensions (approx. measured within GE) :
Overall length : 55 m
Fuselage diameter : 5.3 m
Wingspan (geometric) : 60 m

There is no A380 in Google Earth yet...

Except if you use the attached placemark wich contains an overlay of the latest Bourget Aishow (2005) :D

The A380 is at the top of the overlay ;)

Can you recognize the other planes ? :D

The Airplane with the 4 engines is an A340, I think A340-300 but Iam not sure witch A340. The other one is an A330-300 ;)

Guys and dolls,
It is certainly an A380. Not only does it show how large it is compared to the planes next to it (the one to the right is for sure a A340), check out the Concorde. Since its last flight in the summer of 2004 it has been parked there. Now see the fields of the farmers, ready for new growth on it. That is spring 2005. The exact time when the A380 became visible to the public.

If that is hard to believe... ah well, with a little imagination and hope...: everything is possible.

Sorry Willem to disappoint you. But if you compare the length of "your" A380 to the Concord then you will see it is the same.

The Concord has a total length of 61.66m and the A380 about 73m. This is more than 11m difference and i can't find a larger plane in Toulouse (expect for the A340-600 with 75.30m, red engines and tail) than the Concord. Your A380 is definitely a A340-300.

There is one unique attribute about the A380 - the wing span (79.80m) is greater than the overall length (73m). If you find a plane with this specs then and only then you have maybe found the mystical A380 ;-) .

Sorry Willem, but I have to correct you. If the new buildings for the A380 are still under construction the new planes can't have been built (you will find a lot of lorries and different working machines on that part - not even a good place to build a new plane).
And if you watch the pictures from Hamburg Airbus Industries you can see, that the "Muehlenberger Loch" (a bay in the River Elbe) isn't prepared for the new plane.
These images are definetly too old to show us an Airbus A380, the first roll out was in April 2005!!!

For sure Geranimo, but... at the moment the satellite photo's were taken your A380 buildings were under construction. That was long way back (old photo's for sure - they've been finished in the meantime).

I'm still not convinced that my 'placemark' is also an old screening of that area. For sure it was made in spring 2005. Just like the period you've been referring to, just the period when 'my' A380 was parked outside.

The problem in your argumentation is, that there is no construction hall in the south part of the area, that is big enough to take an Airbus 380. Where should it have been built if the new hangars are under construction? And why should it be parked in the south if the new hangars are in the north? Is it possible to mix old with new images and why should anybody do so? Questions about questions... :confused:
Sorry, but on these images you can't find 'your' A380... And remember, even
if the girls tell you something different, sometimes size does matter - and all planes you can see on any image are not long enough to be 'your' A380

Oh, I forgot to mention one thing: You are not even dreaming of an A380 on that images - you dream of images not older than three months on GE. That would be nice...

And the next step is realtime-spacecam-videos in high definition and 5.1 :)

I appreciate your lively imagination and efforts (that's how I got to 'my' A380) but the size -of the plane- is exact the right one (and btw, who listens to girls anyway :-) )?

Honestly, I believe everyone is confused because of the other plane which is to the left of the A380. In cases it makes it look bigger or in cases smaller but as the brain tends to use focus area's to identify if something is related to an-other or not, clearly 'my' A380 has a disadvantage in that case. But I can live with that. Anyone who can relate to that is a winner as well and can join me with 'my' A380.

And Geronimo, if you would've paid a little more attention to other submissions, some are, just like 'my' A380, brand new as well (<3 months).

Ok boys.

This poto was taken on the 6th January at Toulouse. It shows the A380 coming back from the paintshop.
So willem is right, that there was a A380 completed when the satellite photo was taken.


But willem, the A380 you mean is no one. It is really a A340-330. Look at the same Airbus type 900m southeast at the terminal with two smaller Airbus. Make a picture of both and cut one out with a drawing program, then lay it near together. You will see, they have the measurements.
The only A380 was until Roll-Out in the hangar, where it was inside completed.

I have many fellows at Toulouse, because they went from former aircraft manufacturer Avcraft Aviation GmbH to Toulouse. I`m still working by Avcraft as an aircraft mechanic and become several e-mails with pictures from the A380.

So believe, this is not a A380!
