how about having an alliance forum where you need the password to enter your own alliance's thread?

that little alliance communication thing is good for short notes but there's no organization of it other than the last post is at the top.

having the options to set up votes and have different threads on combat, economics, etc.... would be really nice for organizing ourselves.

Well for starters, you can get your own chat room over at GEWarriors.com (http://www.gewarriors.com).

right, and/or device a secret code to talk to each other over open forums!

I dont think this would really be possible/feesable, atleast not on these boards - it would be *FAR* too much to moderate :crysmilie :spin:

If you guys are really serious about getting an alliance chat together, find/buy a website and put phpBB on it - then you'll have a whole forum to yourself.

We did the same. That was before gewarriors even.
Your own server is the only real secure way. I could set up forums for alliances with their own administrator and lock me out, but as its my server there would be nobody who would trust that, I'd still be able to check the database.
The chat is totally secure though as there's no way to moderate private rooms.
But if you want your own forum, I would create one on Yahoo.
Lots of free servers for forums available on the net.
