X marks the spot - Tree style

This , I thought was an unusual tree formation not far from Thetford, UK. It's part of a managed man made forrest, but I wonder what the significance of the cross is ?

Wow that is a good find. I would love to go there because the thing is huge. a nearly perfict cross, 300 by 300 meters. Thats BIG.
