What exactly does Google Earth "beta" mean? :confused:

beta is how the second stage of a program-in-testing is described... (alpha, then beta) it means its not officially released yet, and thus it is not guarenteed to be stable/complete or completely unbugged.

so, to break it down for you ;

Program Official Release 1.0
Program Upgrade 1.1 alpha
Program Upgrade 1.1 beta
Program Official Release 1.1

etc. :)

Theres an old joke that what Microsoft calls an "Official Release" Google calls "Beta 1" :lol:
