Hello!

As far as I know the Google Earth's data is stored in the file ...<UserName>\Application Data\Google\GoogleEarth\dbCache.dat. And when I use GE (of course, by means of the Internet), dbCache.dat increases. And then (without the Internet) I can see all places when I was in GE (using cache-file).
Well, I have 2 questions:
1. How to share this cache-file between the users of the LAN, i.e. I want to make this file common for some users? Is it possible?
2. Can I use GE under UNIX-systems, for example, Linux, Solaris or FreeBSD?

P.S. Sorry for my bad English.

Hi! Welcome to GEH! :D

1. As far as I know the location of the cache is hardcoded in GE, so the only way to do it would be to store the entire GE Install on the network.. or get into the sourcecode and make changes.. Maybe you should suggest this as a feature to the devs over at GEC (http://bbs.keyhole.com)

2. There is no GE version for UNIX, however they are working on an OSX version currently that can be more easily ported if you are up to the challenge.

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot!
1. You advise me to get into the sourcecode and make changes... :) I'll think about it.
2. It's a pity. I'll be waiting for the OSX version and version for UNIX.
