I am compiling a list of airfields of the world [a Hobby project], I can views of airfields I want to look at by entering the Lat/Long manually from the online search.
Does anyone know if it it possible to go direct to a location without opening Google and using online search?
i.e something like http://google.earth.com?Latitude=50.90007&Longitude=-80.23456
thanks in anticipation

no - you can do this with Google Maps, but not with Google Earth.

a compromise to the idea would be to upload the kmz on a server somewhere, then just link directly to the KMZ download file

I have found that this works to pinpoint a GPS location
46 35 25 N,112 01 58 W
These are coordinates for the Cathedral of Saint Helena, MT
I found the coordinates on the site http://www.lat-long.com/
Degrees Minutes Seconds:
Latitude: 463525N
Longitude: 1120158W
This is how it is listed. Just convert it to the format shown above.

You mean something like this:
http://www.fox-fam.com/gefiles/Airports.kmz
Includes placemarks for about 10,000 airports in the world :)
I need to make a couple small changes and then will upload this to the file library.

Are you going to make your list of airfields available for GE? There seems to be a lot of them already. Not sure where I got them?!
