Where did you get these close ups from? Are there any for other countries? My home's location is 43.826664, 23.231527 . If you can find a close up for this place, I'd be very grateful!

Yep, thanks, still not brilliant, but far better then the resolution GE offered in that area. I can recognize my house in it, where in GE the whole block is just a blurr.

He took the pictures from Terradesk Explorer, quite a nice tool if your place is not high-res in Google Earth. :)
Check http://www.vanuitdelucht.nl/ for more details.
It's a free tool, and it allows you to make closeups, although there are limits to the height in the free version.

All you have to do is install the tool, locate your house, put the camera in the right position (facing -89.9 degrees downwarts), turn of the crosshair, take a screenshot, cut out the screenshot in a tool, save the image, import as a layover, position the lay-over, and you're done. I applied a soft alpha-mask around the edges, and saved it as .png (which allows alpha-channels), so your the edges of your image blend away in the background.

Just a word of advice: it's not very wise to share your postal code on a public forum, but that's just my opinion.

I am guessing you are trying to add an overlay. So select ADD from the menu and then overlay. The cross hairs will appear over the earth where you are at that point.

If you making a screenshot you know with that program, how
to turn off the crossair, and place it in Google Earth.
