This is a discussion thread for the following file:

Orca II.kmz

This is the remains of the boat Orca II used in the movie Jaws. It was a stunt boat, built specifically for the sinking scene but proved to be somewhat more seaworthy than its namesake the Orca. It is beached on private land, near the entrance to Menemsha Pond, in Martha's Vineyard, MA.

Way cool. But why haven't movie buffs gone and ripped off pieces of the ship as tokens? Hell, I'm thinking of doing that right now! :menacing:

Unfortunately, they have. There's not a lot left of it after almost 31 years - if it were in a more accessible location I expect it would have disappeared totally many years ago. I feel slightly guilty now that I've let the cat out of the bag in a big way and hundreds of people are going to descend on it this summer and destroy whatever is left. PLEASE DON'T! It's more fun if it's there for everyone to enjoy, don't you agree?

yes...you're right...I know shouldn't vandalize :slant: ...but I think there's still opportunity for me to make mischeif by putting a big Lost "Dharma Initiative" logo on the tailfin of the rubber Jaws shark at Universal Theme Parks. :menacing:
