Hi Dan,

There is an VB application that can read a kml file, saved by GE, and:

link the placemarks with simple or arrowed lines (path, track);
add sequential numbers and/or append the coordinates to the placemark's names;
calculate distances between placemarks;
calculate route (bearing) to the next placemark;
add distances, routes and/or coordinates to the placemarks description;
draw horizontal and/or vertical grids (equally spaced or not);
draw circles (you choose the radius) around placemarks;
calculate the area delimited by several placemarks;
save the resulting kml file and export it to GoogleEarth.

The beta version can be downloaded from

sgrillo - That is COOL! Did you make this? I will attach my first play with GEPath. When the kml file opens, it takes me to the opposite side of the world, so if you load this, rotate your globe to Southern California.

This file does better, it has GEarth take you to Southern California instead of 385 miles off the coast of Africa.

Thanks you for post. I'm still having fun developing Ge_Path. I will try to fix (next weeks), the identified bugs (as the "view coordinates" you reported). As soon as I have a new version I will post it here. Comments, suggestion, bugs report, etc. will be welcome.

Hi Appletom

There is a new version available (same address above) with few bugs fixed. The generated kml file will take you to the right place now.
