Found this location on another site, and it still seems to remain a mystery.. I have faith in the superior knowledge of the people on this forum, and put it to you to come up with suggestions, or in fact answers as to what is going on here.... My only conclusion.... An Iraqi farmer ploughing on serious medication.

It's actually just across the border in Syria. There's something very systematic going on there. My guess is that it's either military or industrial, but the terrain doesn't look suitable for farming.

The farming bit was a joke... The only thing I can guess at is when they make do the thing they did on jurrasic park... firing charges to get a seismic (spell checker ?) echo... to map out oil fields... but even if that were the case... you wouldn't think there would be such a precise well maintained pattern.... the tracks may be out a bit... but the circles seem to be perfectly uniform...

It could be a mine field, that would explain the grid pattern

To the north thr squares are 382 meters on each leg. (1/3 mile) Looks like oil field mapping. Unless things have changed no one with any sence would make a mine field that big.

after spending sometime clearing mine fields I can tell you that this is no mine field, to symetrical and it has a nice pattern which would b easy to navigate. not to mention the size of the formations.

I also agree with the theory of oil exploration. This looks like a kind of seismic oil exploration to me. Unfortunatly, I found no useful arial picture about such work.

It looks very much like tire tracks if you get up real close. No idea why all the symmetry tho...
