Strange beam of light in Trieste, Italy

Can anyone tell me what this is?

The top part kind of looks like an angel or something, and I can't think of any explanation for this. It is very interesting...

Sunlight is reflecting off of something, overloading the image sensor.

I guess that explains it, but it's the biggest and most unusual one I've seen so far :)
