There is a strange looking white ship at the Panama canal. It is at the second set of locks going north to the gulf of Mexico.
Anyone know what it is?

Yes, that's the ship.
If it was a cargo ship it would look like the other ship there in the locks.
And it doesn't look anything like a cruise ship. Besides, I don't think they put out the very high price for passage through the canal.
I would have liked to put a place marker in my post but I haven't been able to find the instructions on how to do it.
It doesn't say how in the faqs and I cant find it anywhere else.
I'm not an idiot, just new to GoogleEarthHacks.
Whoever said "ignorance is bliss" was never a website noob.

When you've put a placemarker on the map, find it in My Places and right-click on it. Go to Save As and note where you're saving it to. Then post a message on the board, lower down the screen in Additional Options you'll see Manage Attachments. Click on that, browse to where you saved your placemark and select it, then click on the Upload button. Then just post the message.

Couldn't it be a carrier with cars? They look about the same... Look at the backside to the right: it's a ro/ro (roll on roll off).

Doesn't the entrance ramp on a ro ro take up the entire end and both ends look the same? This has a big angled notch cut out of one end for some reason and the other is rounded.
I would guess more along the lines of some government thing but then there would probably be a bunch of satellite dishes and antenna.

Definitely a car carrier...the notch at the starboard-aft corner is a ramp for loading/unloading vehicles. Compare to the attached photo. Shipspotting.com has over 300 pages of photos of car carriers, and I'm pretty bored..maybe I'll find a name for this boat.

This might be it. The HUAL OCEANIA. It's definitely a HUAL vessel, from the paintjob. And all the other HUAL ships I've seen so far have their exhaust stack on the portside...except for this one.

Yep it`s the Hual Oceania. You also can identify it on the side ramp and the company sign which is on the rear side of the ramp. All other Hual carriers has the ramp more to the rear.

Cool, that's it!
When Henk said ro/ro I pictured a ferry, I knew it wasn't a ferry.
Sorry to doubt you Henk.
Good work Cermo, the photos prove it.
