Does anyone have a decent explaination of why there are ancient (Free masonic and Illuminati) symbols in the dc streetplan???

This explains a bit more about it, but bear in mind that it's a bit of a conspiracy theory. I tend not to take that sort of thing too seriously but there's an awful lot of masonic imagery around Washington (not to mention American banknotes). You can't help wondering...

Well, since it is obvious that the streets are layed out like a pentagram, there must be a explenation for this. And the above theory sounds as the most probable .. Unless someone other can explain it more succesfully.
